Frequently Asked
Questions

How safe is an eSUP?

Safety is one of our key-values. The eSUPs of SipaBoards have a couple of built-in safety features. The motor will automatically shut down when the padlle is dropped in the water.

The motor is built for supporting paddling, not as a means of sole propulsion. The maximum speed will not exceed approximately 6 km/h to enable a safe ride.

Always wear your leash, so your board will be in the vicinity when you fall into the water.

How long does the battery last?

The standard battery pack (cruise pack 180Wh) will last for approximately 3 hours when using the motor on the lowest speed. You can increase your range and uptime by installing a larger battery pack (adventure pack 270 Wh or expedition pack 360Wh).

It is recommended to fully charge your batteries before use. To extend battery life and avoid so-called battery memory, it is advised to fully drain a battery every now an then.

How do I charge my batteries?

All our eSUPs package come with a battery charger for the SipaDrive. It has a standard EU plug. Just slide in the battery and charge. A battery is fully charged within a couple hours.

The charger also comes with a built-in USB outlet. Connect the provide USB cable with your remote control to charge the internal batteries of the remote.

Can I track my eSUP?

With the built-in GPS tracker, it is possible to localize your eSUP. When you register your eSUP (register here), you will be able to use your gps coordinates in the SipaBoards app. This gives you the opportunity to trace all your eSUP adventures. Registering your eSUP also has the benefit of an additional 12 months warrenty on the board.
